Au fil des années d'indépendance, l'institut a formé plus de 13 000 médecins (dont 800 internes cliniques, 1 116 masters, 200 post-diplômés et 20 doctorants) dans divers domaines.
Actuellement, 870 employés travaillent à l'institut, dont 525 membres du personnel professoral et enseignant répartis dans 55 départements. Parmi eux, 34 sont docteurs en sciences et 132 candidats au doctorat. Quatre membres du personnel professoral et enseignant de l'institut sont des Travailleurs honorés des sciences de la République d'Ouzbékistan, 3 sont membres de l'Académie des sciences pédagogiques de New York et 2 de l'Académie des sciences pédagogiques de Russie.
L'institut forme du personnel médical dans les facultés et spécialités suivantes : Médecine thérapeutique, Pédiatrie, Odontologie, Formation professionnelle, Médecine préventive, Pharmacie, Affaires infirmières supérieures et Formation continue des médecins. Actuellement, 3 110 étudiants étudient à l'institut (1 331 à la faculté de Médecine thérapeutique, 1 009 en Pédiatrie, 358 en Odontologie, 175 dans la spécialité Formation professionnelle, 49 à la faculté de Pharmacie, 71 dans la spécialité Médecine préventive, et 117 dans la spécialité Affaires infirmières supérieures).
Aujourd'hui, les diplômés de l'institut suivent des formations de master dans les spécialités suivantes : obstétrique et gynécologie, thérapie (avec ses spécialités), oto-rhino-laryngologie, cardiologie, ophtalmologie, maladies infectieuses (avec ses spécialités), dermatovénérologie, neurologie, oncologie générale, morphologie, chirurgie (avec ses spécialités), méthodes de diagnostic instrumentales et fonctionnelles (avec ses spécialités), neurochirurgie, santé publique et services de santé publique (avec ses spécialités), urologie, narcologie, traumatologie et orthopédie, expertise médico-légale, pédiatrie (avec ses spécialités), chirurgie pédiatrique, anesthésiologie et soins intensifs pédiatriques, cardiologie et rhumatologie pédiatriques, neurologie pédiatrique, néonatologie, médecine du sport.
La clinique de l'institut compte 700 lits et est équipée d'instruments de diagnostic et de traitement modernes : IRM, scanner MSCT, échographie, Centre de laparoscopie, etc.
L'institut offre toutes les possibilités pour mener un processus éducatif sophistiqué et des travaux de recherche.
